On What Religion IS – PLUS – Verses (with Elaboration) On Why We Left It

Part 1: Until Jesus, & His death burial & most importantly, Resurrection, we were all under the law. It says that Jesus was full of grace & truth, it does not say He was full of law. And that is why He was able to obey the law perfectly, because He was full of grace & truth. The ones full of law were the Pharisees, who were hateful & judgmental & just plain mean like today’s modern, “law abiding”, Christian. They are lost, spiritually dead people who think that God loves them because of what they do. Jesus, through His ministry to the end, taught us that we should trust in God & not our own actions. He taught the law not so we would obey it, but so that we would give up on the law – or anything like it. So all of us, being prideful & stubborn, have set about making religions that tell others how to live while never getting to know our God. That said, a small group – it would seem to be less than 1% of all Christians – finally give up on religion and receive the great love their God has for them. Other than that, things are just great in “the church” today.

Part 2: (Romans 3:20) Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in His sight: for BY THE LAW IS THE KNOWLEDGE OF SIN .

(Romans 7:4) Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ

(Romans 7:6) But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit , and not in the oldness of *the letter . {*the LAW}

(Galatians 2:21) I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, THEN CHRIST IS DEAD IN VAIN.

(Acts 17:24-25 KJV) God that made the world & all things therein, seeing that He is Lord of heaven & earth, dwelleth NOT in temples made with hands ; Neither is worshipped with men’s hands , as though He needed anything, seeing He giveth to all life, & breath, & all things

Religion is vain. It’s work is vain.  It’s “worship” is vain. Your “houses of god” are vain. Your “obedience” is vain. The only thing that is not vain is your God, Jesus. But all of your attempts to “get right” with Him are vain. The only thing that matters is Him. And the only thing we must {or even can} do is trust in HIM!

In religion (the old covenant), He uses you & you use Him. In relationship (the new covenant), He lives His life & you live yours in such a way that you both get to know each other. You spend the rest of eternity getting to know the endless depths of His love, and He will spend it watching you grow in the grace and knowledge of Him, your great God and Saviour, Jesus Christ!

(Hebrews 8:10-13 KJV) For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, & write them in their hearts: & I will be to them a God, & they shall be to me a people: And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, & every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, & their sins & their iniquities WILL I REMEMBER NO MORE. In that He saith, A new covenant, He hath made the first old . Now that which decayeth & waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

So, Jesus & Paul did preach different messages: Jesus taught the OLD Covenant while Paul gave us the NEW – Via the Spirit of JESUS! So, there is no contradiction but, there are two covenants. FWIW, when I learned this, it set me free – thank you Jesus!

  1. Everything you share here is true! This is how to rightly divide the word of truth: by dividing it in half, between the Old and New Covenant. I hope many people read these words and come to the end of the Law, and begin life anew trusting in Jesus Christ alone and not in their vain attempts to do good.
