To My ‘Glad to be Religious’ Brethren

Do you look at things only as they appear in front of your face? If anyone trusts in himself that he is Christ’s, let him consider this again with himself, that, even as he is Christ’s, so also we are Christ’s. (2 Corinthians 10:7 WEB)

Imagine your best friend & Savior, Jesus, were to approach you some time while you are alone, praying maybe, or sitting on the couch or something like that, and He sat down next to you & said something like, “Hello, my child, I want you to know that I appreciate all of your efforts to do my will as you understand it. But – And I’m not saying you don’t already know the following, it’s just that – can you know too much of a good thing? And that good thing is this: I love you. You’re not doing everything the way it should be done – and neither is anyone else. You are growing in my grace and the knowledge of me and I hope you will consider that others are doing the same, the best way they know. For what it’s worth I never started any denomination but, if that is helping you find me, that’s okay. Just know there are others who know me personally because they put their faith in me, and not traditions & stuff  like being faithful to ‘the house of God’. Paul tried to explain that in Acts 17. Anyway, just know that, even if you ‘go crazy‘ & stop doing religious things and decide to trust in ME and drop what you are doing, I will be right here. Living my life as I always have. Ready and willing to have you come live yours with me. Until then, know that I love and accept you even though you don’t want me – right now. Nothing you do will ever change that. I simply want to spend eternity with you, so I’m asking you to consider the Life of faith in me, and leave that life of walking by sight behind you. Okay, take care, see you soon….”

You can say this will never happen and, maybe it won’t . But it did to me (in a different way. that’s between me & Him). My God loves me, He tells me that all the time. You know what else? He loves others more than any of us could love them or even imagineEVER. He spoke to my heart. He’s speaking to yours. He’s speaking to all those people religion casts into hell… Listen, that’s all. Listen, and you will hear what millions have heard, “My child, I love you. Do you trust me?”

Once you’ve heard that, you will realize that He really IS “takin’ care of business”. It’ll be okay. He’s there whenever you cry out to Him from your heart . He said He would be found when you Seek Me with all your heart. Not your religion or even your obedience – with your heart – and you will have Him. Your Saviour. Your Father. Your Life.

  1. His enduring love for us is such good news! I’m so thankful to live in these days of the New Covenant — the fulfillment and coming together of His great plan of mercy — where we can see and understand and know His love. Thank you for sharing this really neat story of how Jesus revealed His love to you, and the description of the life of FAITH!

    1. Excellent comment, sis. Also, that’s not “the story”, that was A story of how it could happen. It’s so personal, and detailed, it’s hardly possible to convey it all to another person. He seems to have designed it that way. 😉

  2. Amen great testimony thanks for sharing and I pray for the many that haven’t come out of the dark yet and out of their religious activities and turn to you, may they seek you while they can still find you in Jesus name amen

    1. Amen Judith. I know you mean that because, as two who were in darkness for a long time too, there’s nothing better to pray for another person than freedom from the darkness of religion – in Jesus’ name!
