IN JESUS’ NAME! Some Thoughts…

I believe Jesus shed the blood of very God (Acts 20:28) to take away my sins so that He and I can be together forever hence, He will never “leave nor forsake” me (Heb. 13:5). In other words, He loves me because HE is good, not because of anything I can “do for him”. That is what it means (to me) to do the most important thing in the name of Jesus – to live life knowing I can trust in my God who gave Himself for me due to HIS goodness (Gal. 2:20). This is that perfect Love (which casts out ALL FEAR) in which we rest. {see: 1 John 4:18 & Mat. 11:28-30}

What does it mean to you to say, “In Jesus name!”?

  1. Okay. Sure. Sounds good to me! 😁. I assume this is Mark who is writing? . . . Suzette, what do you say?? What does it mean to you to say ‘in Jesus name’? Me? I have never given it much thought!! (As in, no thought at all.) But I like the simple explanation you give here, that it’s simply a life of faith. It reminds me of how Aaron Budjen describes the Christian life: it’s a life of trust, and peace and rest. … And, YUP, that is how I live each day! 😀 So, I guess I can now say that I live in Jesus name. 👍🏼

  2. I listen to Denis Prager a lot and he claims, according to how Jews read scripture, to “take” the name in vain means to “carry” it. So, apparently, it would seem to kind of fit w/ what I’m describing, that – if His name is WHO He is – we “take” Him everywhere we go. Maybe you could ask Aaron about that one.. or, maybe not. 😉
